Get involved
It's not just acting! We offer a variety of ways to get involved with Kelvin Players, so even if you love theatre but hate the limelight, we're sure to have a role for you in the club.
Acting
All members are welcome to audition for any of our shows or rehearsed readings.
Set Construction
For the DIY-inclined. Less experienced members who are interested in getting involved with construction are welcome too – we're happy to share skills!
Workshops
We offer a variety of skills workshops across the year, held by both internal and external practitioners.
Directing
All our shows are directed by Kelvin members. Speak to a member of committee to find out about eligibility.
Kelvin Writers' Group
Our informal support network for aspiring dramatic writers. In the past, works from this group have been performed as rehearsed readings.
Social Events
As you'd expect, we're a social bunch. We hold regular social events, including our Annual Awards Ceremony and Ball.
Backstage
Get involved backstage. Props, lighting, sound, stage management, costuming – it's all up for grabs!
Rehearsed Readings
The first step when dipping your toes into directing. Direct a one act play in a day and perform it that same evening, scripts in hand.

How we communicate with our members
Members' Website
Members have access to the password protected member pages.
This provides access to committee details, current production rehearsal schedules, future production details (such as audition pieces), past show photos, policies, and technical guidelines.
Social Media
We have a community Facebook group and WhatsApp community announcements channel, which all members may join.
Once you join you will be sent a link to the page where you can request to join, chat to other members, see and share videos, pictures, posts, events etc.
We also have an Instagram!
The Digest
Members are sent a weekly ‘Digest’ via email (unless unsubscribed).
The Digest gives updates on anything related to the club (shows, socials, workshops etc.) but also various other opportunities outside the club, such as audition notices, local productions, and training notices.
Kelvin Theatre Library
Members have access to the wide range of drama information resources held in the Kelvin Library.
This includes over 1000 indexed script titles, collection of theatrical reference books and collections of journals and periodicals.
