In this black comedy set in a totalitarian state, Katurian, a fiction writer, is arrested because his gruesome story lines closely resembles recent child murders in the area.  What unfolds is a disturbing tale with incredible stories (think Grimm) and superb plot twists to throw the audience back and forth.  Ariel and Tupolski, police officers, use brutal tactics and a lot of bad language to interrogate the writer and Michael, his brother about their involvement in the crimes. The play draws out all four characters’ childhoods, the resulting influence on their lives and shows how they have become the people they are today.

Written by the author of the film In Bruges, The Pillowman was a 2003 National Theatre Production starring David Tennant and Jim Broadbent.  Now Kelvin Players present their creative and innovative take on this challenging piece with distinctive theatrical elements and style.
