Inspired by the true wartime history of the Osiris Players, this comedy follows the adventures of a small group of women who came together to form a 'girls only' theatre company to take the plays of Shakespeare around a culture-starved Britain. While the men are fighting, these hopelessly mismatched individuals embark on a crazy adventure. They are forced to discover what life is like without men and how they must survive when they have only eachother. First directed in the West End in 2004 by Trevor Nunn with Juliet Stevenson leading an impressive cast, We Happy Few is an uplifting, touching and often hilarious story of overcoming adversity with dogged determination.
