Stun us with a Submission for the 2009 “Shakespeare” Season !
You’ve got until midnight on 8th June to submit a play, and although we’ve got some strong proposals, we’d like some more… To dispel any puzzlement as to the origins of our themed season, we thought you might like to know how it came about. Did you know that 2009 marks the 80th anniversary of Kelvin Players? Not as significant as our 75th, when we celebrated with a two-part version of Nicholas Nickleby, but something that needs to be marked in some way. When the APC were considering the excellent suggestion of doing a Shakespeare season (thank you very much Jacqs Ludgate), the General Committee came up with another excellent idea, of using the anniversary to celebrate the work of the Bard.. Now for those of you, who may not be a fan of Willy, fear not. The intention is to perform maybe 2 of the Works, and to have 4 other plays with links to Shakespeare, however tenuous. Remember the prize we’re offering for the person who submits the play with the most inventive link with Shakespeare? (We’ve not forgotten). To assist in getting the imaginations going, we’ve got quite an extensive list to offer you.
